NBA star DeMar DeRozan has addressed the speculation surrounding his relationships with Drake and Kendrick Lamar, following his appearance in the music video for Kendrick's diss track "Not Like Us," which targets the Canadian rapper.
DeRozan, a Los Angeles native who played for the Toronto Raptors from 2010 to 2018, had developed a close bond with Drake during his time in Toronto. However, his recent appearance in Kendrick's video and on stage at his concert sparked questions about their friendship.
In a recent interview with Fox40 Sports, DeRozan clarified that while he has love and respect for Drake, his relationship with Kendrick Lamar is like family. He explained that they share a deep connection, having grown up in the same city and neighborhood. DeRozan emphasized that his friendship with Kendrick is long-standing and not a recent development, despite not being publicly acknowledged until now.
The clarification comes after Kendrick's "Not Like Us" video featured subtle digs at Drake, including a scene with an owl-shaped piñata and a cameo from his manager Dave Free, who was previously accused of being involved in a personal matter with Drake.
