Chelsea Eyeing Ipswich Town Striker Liam Delap for Summer Transfer

Chelsea is reportedly keeping a close eye on Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap as a potential transfer target for the summer window. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are impressed with Delap's performances this season and are considering him as a long-term solution to bolster their attacking options.

Romano revealed, "Chelsea are keen on Liam Delap. Enzo Maresca, who previously managed Delap at Manchester City's U-23 side, has praised the young striker's abilities. While a January move seems unlikely, Delap is definitely on Chelsea's radar for the summer."

Delap, who joined Ipswich Town in the summer for a reported £20 million, has already made a significant impact, scoring six goals and providing one assist in 18 outings across competitions. His impressive form has caught the attention of several top clubs, but Chelsea's interest is particularly noteworthy given Maresca's previous working relationship with the player.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly praised Delap, stating, "Liam is a fantastic player. He understands the game well and can score goals. For his age, he has a bright future ahead of him, and I believe he can be an important player for England."

While Chelsea is currently happy with Nicolas Jackson's performances, Romano noted that the club is looking to add more depth to their squad, especially with the expectation of returning to Champions League football next season.
