Christian Eriksen Set to Leave Manchester United

Christian Eriksen's future at Manchester United appears uncertain as new manager Ruben Amorim has decided not to extend his contract. The Danish midfielder, who joined United on a free transfer in 2022, has struggled to secure a regular spot under Amorim's leadership.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, "Manchester United have already decided internally that his contract will not be extended and that the Danish midfielder will leave on a free transfer in the summer only a good proposal could change the story and see him leave in January." Romano added, "Amorim’s vision goes in a different direction, as he wants intensity everywhere, especially in the midfield."

Eriksen, who has made 88 appearances for United, has faced challenges fitting into Amorim's system, which demands high-intensity play. Despite his efforts, Eriksen has found himself sidelined more often than not. The club's decision to let him go is also influenced by financial considerations, as Eriksen earns around £150,000 per week.

Amorim's decision has been met with mixed reactions from fans and analysts alike. While some believe it's a necessary step to rebuild the squad, others feel it's a premature move given Eriksen's experience and skill set.

As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on United to see if they can facilitate Eriksen's move to another club. Potential suitors include La Liga side Real Betis, who were keen on signing him during the summer.
