Chelsea has announced the return of young defender Aaron Anselmino from his loan spell at Boca Juniors. The 19-year-old Argentine, who was signed by Chelsea last summer for £15.6 million, has rejoined the squad at Cobham.
In a recent interview, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shared his excitement about Anselmino's return and outlined his plans for the young talent. "He's another talent, another good player," Maresca said. "Now the most important thing is that he arrives here, adapts himself, finds a house, and settles in the right way. Then we need to give him time because when you come from the other part of the world, you need to adapt. You need to see a new world, a new culture. For sure, we are going to try to help him to adapt as soon as possible."
Anselmino, who made 23 appearances for Boca Juniors, is expected to integrate into Maresca's first team. Despite his young age and the challenges of adapting to a new country, Anselmino has shown great potential and determination. "He has developed a lot," said Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme. "With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team."
Maresca emphasized the importance of patience and support for Anselmino as he transitions back to Chelsea. "If he's here it's because we think he is a good player, and he can help us, but for sure he is very young, and he is coming from Argentina, with a completely different culture, different football, different level, so he needs time to adapt."
Chelsea fans are hopeful that Anselmino's return will provide a boost to the team, especially with injuries to key defenders Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile. Anselmino's development under Maresca's guidance will be closely watched as he aims to make his mark on the Premier League.
