Tottenham Hotspur has announced the extension of South Korean star Son Heung-min's contract until the summer of 2026. The club exercised their option to keep the 32-year-old forward, who has been a key player for Spurs since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.
Son expressed his gratitude for the extension, saying, "I love the club. I love the time I've spent here... almost 10 years and another year with the club." He has been a prolific scorer for Tottenham, netting 169 goals in 431 appearances, making him the fourth-highest goal scorer in the club's history.
As the club captain since August 2023, Son has consistently delivered outstanding performances, including winning the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021-2022 season with 23 goals. His contract extension comes amid rumors of interest from top European clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Tottenham's decision to extend Son's contract ensures that he will continue to be a part of the team's future, quelling any transfer speculations. The club praised Son as a "modern-day great" and a "global star" for his contributions over the years.
